6 Cleaning Mistakes to avoid

6 Cleaning Mistakes to avoid

Believe it or not, they are actually good and bad ways of cleaning your house. What makes it stand out is the best cleaning methods that are easy to do and follow.

  1. Mopping a wood floor with water

Water is the enemy of wood floor. When cleaning, always make sure you use a clean surface floor with dry cloth or moper to avoid corroding the wood.

  1. Using furniture polish to dust

Most of these polish, despite being smelling great and making the floor look shiny, have oil in them. When someone steps on them can be awful especially when an accident occurs.

  1. Scrubbing stains out of carpet and upholstery

When stains happen on the carpet, resist the urge to scrub the stain out; that will damage the pile. Use a clean, dry towel to remove out the stain. Then, rinse it thoroughly with clean water, and blot dry again. Repeat as needed and apply carpet stain remover if necessary, following the manufacturer’s directions.

  1. Cleaning the window on a hot sunny day

The hot sun will make the glass cleaner evaporate quickly and cause streaking. Instead, wait for a cloudy day, when there is a cool temperature.

  1. Cleaning Electronics using spray cleaners

They can do damage, make components to rust or corrode parts of the machine. Liquid sprays can even cause electric shock. Always use a blower or a dry towel to clean electronics.

  1. Vacuuming in the wrong direction

You should not vacuum perpendicular to the baseboard. This may push dirt underneath it that might be hard to remove. Rather, vacuum parallels to the baseboard at the edges of the room. Then, make sure to vary your direction in the middle of the room to and lift, separate, and untangle fibers.
